There is something incredibly special about high school sweethearts. Leandra and Caleb didn’t just meet as adults. They basically grew up together. Watching them interact, you can tell their bond is deep, rooted in years of friendship and shared history. It was an honor to document their celebration as they officially merged their lives at the Hyatt Place Jacksonville / St. Johns Town Center.
Private Vows at the Town Center
Before the ceremony began, Leandra and Caleb decided to share a private first touch. They didn’t want to see each other just yet, but they wanted a moment of quiet intimacy to read their personal vows. Standing around the corner from one another and holding hands without seeing faces, they shared their promises. It was a perfect, tear-jerking start to the day.
Jacksonville Wedding Portraits at UNF Nature Trails
The Hyatt Place at the Town Center has a beautiful deck overlooking Lake Meadowbrook which served as the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. However, for their romantic portraits, we knew we wanted a different vibe with lush greenery and tall trees.
We decided to be adventurous! Since the University of North Florida (UNF) is only a quick 5-minute drive from the hotel, I jumped in the car with the couple and we headed over to the nature trails. It was the best decision we could have made. The boardwalks and organic landscape at UNF provided a stunning contrast to the modern feel of the Town Center. The photos turned out perfect. It just proves that sometimes trusting your photographer to find a hidden gem location pays off!
A Fun Reception at the Hyatt Place
Because Leandra and Caleb have been together for so long, this wasn’t just two families meeting. It was two families who already knew and loved each other merging officially. The atmosphere was like one massive party. They had a large wedding party that brought so much energy and fun to the day.
Thank You
To Leandra and Caleb, thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to document your big day. Your love story is the kind people dream about, and it was an honor to witness the beginning of this new chapter.

Remembering Austin
Sometimes, we are reminded that wedding photography is about so much more than pretty poses. It is about preserving history. Tragically, Caleb’s brother, Austin, passed away just a week after this beautiful celebration. Looking back at these images, I am so grateful that the family has these joyful memories of Austin celebrating his brother’s happiness. Being able to share these photos with the family has been a humbling reminder of why I document these days.
