When a wedding starts with an airshow and ends with karaoke at Mango’s, you know it is going to be a good one. Anna and Max’s Jacksonville Beach wedding at Casa Marina had everything. From a beachside ceremony under a handcrafted chuppah to a reception where the dance floor turned into a scene out of a movie, this day was packed with joy, energy, and a whole lot of FUN!

A Wedding Day with a Front-Row Seat to the Sky

The morning started with an actual airshow flying over Jacksonville Beach. At first, we were all a little worried that jets soaring overhead might interrupt the ceremony, but the planes cleared out just in time. The skies stayed overcast, which made for perfect lighting for their first look and portraits, and the weather held until everyone was safely inside for the reception. Then the rain came. It was perfect timing.

A First Look Beneath a Family-Made Chuppah

Anna and Max shared their first look under the chuppah that her parents built for them. It was a quiet, beautiful moment surrounded by something deeply personal. The soft light from the clouds gave us the best conditions for portraits, and we were able to get AMAZING portraits before guests arrived. That time together gave them space to breathe before the celebration took over.

Herding the Wedding Party of Twenty

Yes, twenty! This wedding party had twenty bridesmaids and groomsmen, which can easily turn into chaos. But not this group. The girls were absolute pros, and the guys… well, let’s just say they needed a little guidance. Luckily, I have just the right mix of sarcasm and charm to whip a group of military men into photo-ready shape. They handled it like champs, and we had a blast in the process.

The Reception: Controlled Chaos at Its Finest

The reception began with a moment straight out of a movie. Max and Anna entered through a traditional military sword arch, followed by a choreographed first dance that had the entire room watching in awe. It was elegant, romantic, and full of personality.

Then Anna’s dad took the mic and gave a speech that had everyone in tears. It was heartfelt, beautifully delivered, and set the tone for the rest of the night.

After that, the formality faded. The dolphin ice luge made its debut and the party took off. Shirts came off, the dance floor filled up instantly, and I had to stand on a chair just to capture the full scene. Anna and Max were lifted into the air during the hora, surrounded by a crowd of cheering friends and family. It was the kind of reception people will still be talking about for years.

A Relationship Rooted in Surf and Sunshine

Anna and Max met on Hinge and had their first date surfing by the Jacksonville Beach Pier. That connection to the beach and the ocean made Casa Marina the perfect wedding spot. Max’s best man joked that they never thought he would find someone who could keep up with him, especially in the water. But Anna matched him wave for wave, and their surf trips together have become part of their story.

Ending the Night with Karaoke

You would think that after a reception like that, the night would wind down. But this group kept it going with karaoke at Mango’s. I did not go, but I can only imagine the performances that happened there. I am almost afraid of the photos that could have come from it.

Thank You, Anna and Max

Anna and Max, thank you for choosing me to capture your wedding. It was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I do what I do. You brought the fun, the emotion, and the energy, and I loved every second of it.

And a special thank you to my beautiful past bride Savannah for the referral. You can see Savannah and Chris’s North Carolina wedding here:
