How far would you travel for the perfect wedding destination? Sophie and Kerry’s Villa by the Sea, Jekyll Island wedding took place a long way from their home! These two gorgeous babes are from the UK, and I admit, when I first heard from them I thought it was a spam request, lol! It was legit though, and we set up a Zoom call to discuss all the deets. We bonded immediately–not least because I am a total Anglophile! (In fact, I took them all over my house to show off all my England and London-themed artwork. I mean, I even have a Union Jack rug!)
The Engagement Session
Anywho… it was obviously meant to be, and I fell in love with them even more during their engagement session. We had the BEST time running all over Jekyll Island–which is seriously the prettiest place. We laughed the entire time and the girls were pretty much up for anything. It. Was. Perfect. Since their engagement session was so amazing, I couldn’t wait for Sophie and Kerry’s Villa by the Sea, wedding day at Jekyll Island in June!
Pride/UK Jekyll Island Wedding
I firmly believe that love is love! I knew that these two beautiful brides already knew how I felt, but I really wanted to show Kerry and Sophie how much I support them. I think my outfit said it all. π I wore a sequin Union Jack shirt (Anglophile, remember?) and I also had a pride Union Jack flag that I wore as a cape pretty much all day, HAHA! We all decided that I was now the UK wedding photographer of choice, lol! It’s the little touches, right? I wanted Sophie and Kerry’s Villa by the Sea, Jekyll Island wedding to be perfect–and it was! Love Wins!
Before and After | Portraits at Villa by the Sea
Like I said, Villa by the Sea is gorgeous, and the perfect spot for an intimate wedding on Jekyll. The girls decided to do a first look so we had time to explore and shoot some portraits all over Jekyll Island. The ceremony and dinner were amazing. SO much love and absolutely perfect weather! Oh, and just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better, guess what happened? A gorgeous rainbow showed up during the reception to make the wedding day even more fabulous. Wow. Just, wow!!! After the reception, we went to Driftwood Beach around sunset for a few more portraits. The sky was incredible! We got the most romantic portraits in and out of the water. Their friends even got in the water with them to celebrate! I’ll say it again. It was perfect.
Thank you so much, Kerry and Sophie, for trusting me to capture your beautiful Villa by the Sea, Jekyll Island wedding–and for traveling across an ocean to confirm me as the #1 UK wedding photographer (ha!)
Love you both SO much! And I’m wishing you a lifetime of love and laughter.
