Brooke and Austin’s St. Augustine Basilica wedding was amazing–not least because this couple is SO much fun! I don’t think we stopped laughing all day. We met and bonded over their (absolutely freezing) engagement session, so we were looking forward to connecting again on the big day when it was much, much warmer. It was funny ’cause their engagement session was scheduled for kind of a dreary day. And when Brooke showed up she said she really wanted moody pictures…which is not normally how I shoot. But with the gloomy sky that day, that’s exactly what she got from her engagement session!
St. Augustine Basilica Wedding Ceremony
Not only did the weather cooperate with Brooke’s wishes for the engagement session, but also it couldn’t have been a prettier day for Brooke and Austin’s St. Augustine Basilica wedding either! Mother Nature was smiling on us!
Brooke got ready at the Casa Monica which had an amazing wrap-around balcony that made it look like she was in a castle. So pretty and romantic. Honestly, we could have been in Europe!
Of course, the Basilica itself was gorgeous! Brooke and Austin planned for extra time for portraits. So we were able to hit several of St. Augustine’s highlights, including the Fort and the beautiful trees on Magnolia Road. Such a great mix of gorgeous backdrops!
Reception at the White Room
After Brooke, Austin and I had a blast shooting their amazing portraits, It was time to get the party started at their reception. And let me say there was SOOOO much love and laughter! During the reception, it took just a minute to get the party started. But once it got going it didn’t stop! The dance floor was packed! Everybody had some great moves, but I have to say, Austin’s dad and uncle were the highlight for me. Phew! Those guys knew how to cut a rug!
I am so lucky that Brooke and Austin’s chose me to document their St. Augustine Basilica wedding! We had the best time, they were straight models in front of the camera, and my abs are still a little tender from all that laughing. π
