I’m not sure I can imagine anything more gorgeous than Shelby and Jeremy’s Renaissance St Augustine wedding. Seriously, I could shoot EVERY SESSION in that entranceway. The white staircase with gold railings and ceiling…Cue the sigh of an absolutely contented wedding photographer. ๐ Truly spectacular!
I’ve known Shelby and her daughter (hi sweet Melody!) for years, and I liked Jeremy right from the start when I met him about a year ago. Shelby and Jeremy knew each other way before that. They met over 10 years ago (working at the same hospital). I’m pretty sure Jeremy was smitten from the beginning. Shelby does look like his childhood crush Taylor Swift, after all. Haha!
They decided to get married on the very popular 2/22/22. I guess it’s a good way to remember your wedding date, right? No excuses for forgetting your anniversary though! (Which I’m sure will never happen with these two, btw!)
They also decided to do first look photos before their Renaissance St Augustine wedding. Since we were so close to Magnolia Road we were able to shoot there (all the gorgeous trees!) before heading to the fort. I think this was actually the first wedding ever at the new Renaissance St. Augustine hotel, so that was pretty cool too!
The entire day went beautifully! I think the only hiccup was when Melody (four years old) broke down before the ceremony and refused to wear the custom-made mini wedding gown her mom had bought for her. Only her dirty Old Navy dress would do! Hey, it may not have been the height of fashion, but I can guarantee Melody was the most comfortable person there. And you’ve got to be comfortable to break out those moves on the dance floor, right?
Actually, evening dresses and three-piece suits didn’t stop anyone from getting their groove on! I was surprised how big the party was, given that it was a Tuesday night, but so many people came out to show their love for the newlyweds, and that dance floor never stopped!
Congratulations, Shelby and Jeremy (and Melody!) You are a beautiful family and I’m so lucky to be both your friend and forever photographer! Yes, you’re forced to use me for LIFE!
