So–Savannah and Chris didn’t actually know they would be hiring me as their Fearrington Village Wedding Photographer! They hired me to do their engagement photos (here in Jacksonville, Florida) and thought it would stop there. After all, they were getting married out of state. But I knew better! I told them over the phone that they would fall in love with me during their engagement session and be forced to bring me to North Carolina with them for the wedding. And that’s exactly what happened! We had so much fun together and they absolutely loved their engagement shoot experience. It wasn’t but a few hours after their session that they told me no other wedding photographer would do–they had to have me! So yeah, I force people to bring me out of state, lol.
Savannah and Chris’ Fearrington Village Wedding was a brunch wedding. I love those! It means we start really early but we’re rewarded with the best buffet at the reception. I mean, come on, who doesn’t love brunch? The weather was perfect and a bit cooler than Florida, which I didn’t mind one bit! I was grateful for the reprieve. The butterfly gardens at Fearrington were amazing–what a magical place to shoot wedding photos! We did a lot of their portraits there and that’s also where they held the ceremony. It’s simply Gorgeous!
I wasn’t the only one who traveled a ways to be part of this special day. A lot of the wedding guests came from out of town, some even out of the country, which made it just so special for everyone. It was like a big reunion/party for their family and friends, and the reception was a blast! They even had a live reception artist, Salty Girl Designs, who was painting the entire reception…I was OBSESSED. Everyone danced and laughed and celebrated the love of these two. It was just perfect.
Oh, and in case you’re wanting the juicy details of how they met (I know I always do), here’s a quick recap of their story: These two love birds met in college at UNC Chapel Hill when Chris was a senior and Savannah was a sophomore. They actually met on Tinder (shocker, right?) and their first date was at the library on campus. Isn’t that the cutest?
I’m so lucky I forced these two to choose me to document their Fearrington Village wedding! I loved the change in scenery, I loved the buffet and I absolutely love Savannah and Chris.
