Maggie and Christian’s Macon wedding was a fairytale..literally! I first met this couple at their surprise engagement shoot in Amelia Island. The groom’s sister Aubrey (who I fell in love with when I did her headshot session a few years ago) booked it for them. So I only met this adorable couple after I took pictures of Christian proposing to Maggie on the beach. We got along so well that they really had no choice but to hire me as their wedding photographer and bring me up to Macon for their wedding in June!
These two decided on a Beauty and the Beast theme for their Macon wedding. I loved it! This really was a fairytale wedding. St. Joseph’s Catholic Church is breathtaking inside and out and obviously provided the most gorgeous backdrop for their ceremony.
Maggie and Christian decided to do first-look photos beforehand and I’m so glad they did! The rain held off just long enough for us to get pictures of the bride and groom and their wedding party. After that, the heavens opened! It was pouring down rain when we first got to the church (not even kidding–this was a torrential downpour) but we finally got a break in the weather for more photos before the ceremony. The pictures on the steps of the church were unbelievable!
The ceremony was perfect (of course). I couldn’t get over the stained glass and huge vaulted ceilings in the church! They really couldn’t have picked a prettier spot for their Macon wedding. Afterward, we headed to the reception at Emerson Ballroom and got the party started. And was it ever a wild one! Maggie’s dad set the stage with his speech. I’m telling you, the guy missed his calling as a comedian. His speech could have been a standup routine. It was hilarious! It’s not often that the speeches are as fun as the dancing, but the father of the bride had us absolutely rolling.
How do you finish off a Beauty and the Beast themed Macon wedding? A packed dance floor, obviously! Their families were ready to party on and the dance floor was bumping all night. Such a fun time, and so special to record Maggie and Christian’s fairytale story–all the way from proposal to the wedding!
Thank you so much, Maggie and Christian, for making me part of the magic! There’s not a doubt in my mind that the two of you are going to live happily ever after!
