Christine and Joe’s Atlantic Beach Country Club wedding was gorgeous. It was my first time shooting a wedding at the Atlantic Beach Country Club. What an amazing location! Christine and Joe are from Texas, and due to COVID, we couldn’t do an engagement shoot. So, the first time we met in person was at their welcome party the day before the wedding! We hit it off right away, so game ON!
Joe and Christine planned an outdoor wedding ceremony on the gorgeous lawn outside the clubhouse. In Atlantic Beach (actually, anywhere in Florida this time of year!) you never know when the rain is going to hit–and it was definitely threatening before the ceremony. A few people even ran and grabbed umbrellas, but they didn’t end up needing them. Even the weather realized this was a special occasion, and after faking us out for a bit, it cleared off for the rest of the night. Which was good because it didn’t put a damper on ANY of the outdoor shenanigans! The Bay Kings Band was rockin’ it for us, and even the wedding party got in on the fun. Since they were kids, Christine told her sister (and maid of honor) Brittany that she had to have a MAJOR PERFORMANCE at her wedding. And wow–Brittany did not disappoint! Instead of the typical maid of honor speech, she rewrote “I’ll Always Remember Us This Way” by Lady Gaga and it was AMAZING! Christine, of course, also did a little karaoke and performed a rewritten Justin Bieber song to Joe! It was perfect!
Apart from the great music, this Atlantic Beach Country Club wedding was memorable in so many ways. The wedding party main table was incredible, I couldn’t get over Christine’s bouquet, and they had one of the biggest wedding parties I’ve ever worked with. So much fun! Oh, and one of the things I’ll never forget: one of the groomsmen couldn’t make it, so they had a lifesize cutout of him! It totally freaked me out so multiple times thinking someone was lurking in the corner, LOL.
