Had the BEST time shooting this adorable couple’s Jekyll Island micro wedding! Carly and Matt are amazing–and I love their totally modern love story: They met on Facebook when Carly accepted a random friend request from Matt. As she put it, “A tattooed firefighter? Yes, please!” You might not think of Facebook as matchmaker.com, but accept those random friend requests, people–you never know what might come of it! LOL
These two broke the ice by spending their first date doing karaoke and trivia–which I would say is a great way to reveal who a person really is! I can only imagine the fun they must have had. And look what it all led up to!
Figuring out a ceremony location is always a toughie–but these two knew they wanted to get married on Jekyll Island beach because it meant so much to both of them. So they decided to keep the ceremony small–a Jekyll Island micro wedding–and then throw a party back home for everyone the following evening. The weather was overcast and perfect for their ceremony. And they managed to find a spot without too many people around! So, family and close friends surrounded them as they made their vows it felt so intimate and perfect.
After the micro wedding itself, we went all around Jekyll Island to get some amazing portraits of the happy couple. Is there anything more romantic than a couple on the driftwood? I don’t think so! Please know that the climb up is crazy hard, but oh so worth it! There are so many gorgeous spots on the island, and we had a great time exploring. Matt’s two adorable daughters came along too (of course I made them my apprentices HA! ), so we were able to get some great photos with the entire family ๐
Matt and Carly, I loved every second of your Jekyll Island micro wedding! Thanks so much for allowing me to record your special day. What an honor getting to know you and the people you love the most!
