The dress? Perfect. The flowers? Perfect. The wedding day? Perfect. But it didn’t always look like it was going to play out that way. The road to Courtney and Dominick’s micro wedding in St Augustine was filled with the ups and downs so many brides are facing in the era of Covid. This sweet couple had originally planned a larger wedding but covid had other ideas. When Courtney reached out to me they were looking for help planning a small, garden style micro-wedding in St Augustine.
We talked about where to do it and went over the location options the city has to offer. Ultimately The Lightner Museum was the easiest to use and had the time and date available to them. On top of everything, the Lighter is always a classically beautiful setting – and fit the bride’s garden theme wonderfully.
And still, the road to wedding day had another curve in store. Weddings are a celebration of new beginnings. They’re surrounding yourself with your closest people as they usher you into a new phase in life. But shortly before the wedding, Courtney’s father had a health crisis. For a while, she didn’t know if he was going to be able to make it to the wedding. Thankfully, he did and his presence gave us this amazing moment with his beautiful daughter at their first look.
Micro weddings truly are the perfect way to truly focus on the people present. Courtney and Dominick are a blended family with so much love for one another. Just the right amount of people were in attendance to surround them with all of the happiness and encouragement to usher in their new chapter.
After the ceremony, we jumped in the car and went over to Fort Castillo. Where my bride and groom modeled their stunning good looks. The Lightner is the perfect place for a wedding or a micro wedding in St. Augustine to create these romantic and dreamy photos. But the Fort is made for the epic shots. Which is exactly what we created there!
Thank you Courtney and Dominick for allowing me to play such a special role in your big day. You are absolutely stunning and your blended family is perfect. To many, many years of love and happiness!
