What better way to celebrate Halloween than with a Savannah Wedding at the Mackey House! Natasha and Josh first met over a decade ago at a mutual friend’s Halloween party. From that night, the rest was history and these two have been together ever since. So it’s only natural they would select October 31st as the wedding date for their Savannah wedding!
Not only did they get married on Halloween but they went all out on the Halloween theme. This wedding was one of the most unique I’ve ever photographed and the couple did an amazing job elevating Halloween with class and elegance. It also surprised me how many items you can find with the skeleton theme – from the champagne flutes to the cake, the florals and even Josh’s cuff links. I can’t imagine how much time went into the small details – but it really paid off! Even Dave, their DJ/MC got in on the Halloween festivities by issuing a ghostly warning ahead of the ceremony. He let us know that if we felt anything odd, it was just the many “friendy” spirits in attendance. Let it be known that I was saying, “Heckkkkk no” under my mask…
The Mackey house was a beautiful backdrop for the Halloween wedding and Georgia even decided to bless us with the perfect fall weather, and our first cool day of the season. As for the venue, it was just the right mixture of old and new to make it the ideal location for the wedding. I particularly loved the large oak tree in the front entrance and the covered outdoor area for the reception. But by far, my favorite part about the day was the first look.
I know the decision to do a first look can be a difficult one for many brides – their biggest fear is that it will take away from the special moment of seeing each other as the bride walks down the aisle. But I’m here to assure you – that’s rarely the case. Not only did Josh get emotional during the first look, but he also teared up again seeing Natasha come down the aisle. They were by far, my two most favorite moments of the day.
The reception was one big party. Everyone dancing…even the full-size skeleton provided a perfect dance partner for many! Natasha and Josh had a blast celebrating their love with friends and family. The day was perfect.
Congratulations Natasha and Josh! Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your wedding!
