There are people you meet in life that you just click with instantly. The kind you can spend hours chatting and laughing with after only meeting moments ago. When Stacey and Josh met with me for our consultation things just clicked really, really well as a few hours talking and getting to know each other over sangria passed in the blink of an eye. As much as I loved them and wanted to work with Stacey and Josh, I also wanted to make sure they chose the perfect photographer for their Crystal Ballroom St Augustine wedding. So I encouraged them to interview other photographers before committing. But when they got in their car after leaving my house, they said: “Who are we kidding, it has to be Sarah!” Which obviously melted my heart. The rest, as they say, is history.

But enough about our story, on to their story…. Stacey and Josh met while they both were newscast producers at WJXT. I’d say they made some news of their own. HA!! But seriously, they are the cutest and just fit!

Now onto Stacey and Josh’s Crystal Ballroom St Augustine wedding! I couldn’t wait for their wedding at the Crystal Ballroom and when their big day arrived, it was absolutely beautiful. Their venue is one of those gorgeous blank canvases just waiting for a bride to make it her own. Stacey filled the space with epic floral arrangements, against her navy blue color scheme. I could have photographed it for days but weddings move fast and the bridal suite was calling my name. I love it when brides are able to get ready in a space as pretty as they are. It makes photographing the little details that much better.

While I was taking Stacey’s bridal portraits, I asked if she had a veil. She said, “I get more compliments on my hair than anything else, why would I cover that up?” And I was like dang girl when you’re right, you’re right! Stacey’s hair is incredible!

Their day was filled with a lot of love but some of my favorite moments were when Josh got emotional. The bride and groom chose to do a first look which is always special but that didn’t keep Josh from tearing up as his beautiful bride walked down the aisle. After the ceremony the bride and groom kicked off their reception with a live band and let me tell you, they were amazing. They kept everyone on the dance floor all night long – in fact, I danced so much I thought my feet were going to fall off. Chris Thomas Band, YOU ROCK!

One note. In lieu of cake, they had Whit’s Frozen Custard. LET ME TELL YOU. Delicious is an understatement. If anyone else decides on this, you have my FULL support!
