St. Augustine beach weddings at the beginning of August can be dicey. Will it be 99 degrees and 100% humidity? Will it a surprise rainstorm suddenly roll in during the ceremony? Honestly, it’s always a gamble and nobody knows! But Devin and Caleb lucked out during their intimate beach wedding earlier this month. The weather was beautiful for these two love birds who traveled all the way from Iowaย to have an intimate wedding here in St. Augustine Beach with about 30 of their closest family and friends. I first met the bride and groom a few months earlier when I photographed their engagement photos. I knew they were absolutely adorable but I found out at the wedding their entire family was just as sweet. Caleb’s dad was even the officiant!

The ceremony and reception took place at The Reef Restaurant right on the beach. The most fantastic part about it was that Devin and Caleb really gave me full reign when it came to the ceremony. We picked a beautiful spot in the shade so their photos could be gorgeous AND their guests wouldn’t bake in the evening sun. It’s still incredibly hot this time of year, even in the evenings! After the ceremony, we decided to wait an hour before doing the bride and grooms portraits so we could catch the gorgeous sunset on Vilano beach. Devin and Calen were the coolest and completely on board when I suggested it. I’m happy to say it was 100% worth the wait! Their wedding photos on Vilano beach were absolutely gorgeous! Sunset couldn’t have been better!

After an awesome Disney honeymoon, the bride and groom went home and a week later the bride and groom had another ceremony in Iowa so the rest of their family and friends could join in their celebration.

Devin and Caleb, I am SO lucky you chose me to document your intimate, special and PERFECT day!
