Jenna and Stephen first met at their local trivia night. But the best version of this story was actually told by Stephen’s Best-Woman during her speech at the wedding. Apparently, Stephen had decided to woo Jenna by convincing her that was he was the best wedding date. When Jenna didn’t believe him he decided to call one of his best friends to verify it for him, who happened to be in Berlin at the time where it was 3am.

At this point during the speeches, Stephen decided that he absolutely must (again) defend himself and explain why he was the worlds best wedding date. It involved the time he was a guest at his Best Woman’s wedding. She was very nervous that no one would dance at the wedding so he got onto the dance floor and proceeded to instruct all of her guests on the 3 dance moves everyone should know – there was even a male and female version! It all begins with a shuffle, and if you’re feeling relaxed add in some thumbs but if you really want to go crazy, pull out the finger pistols.

Stephen and Jenna’s wedding at the Riverside House was a gathering of close friends and family who had seen the bride and groom at their highest and lowest. People who had molded them into the man and woman they are today. The stories were long and hysterical full of inside jokes and “way back when.” They had all the best parts of a small, intimate wedding. The very best part was how adorable these two were together. The type of couple who click together like puzzle pieces. I’m so grateful they chose me to photograph their wedding day because seriously, I adore them!

We also tried something new with the bride and groom. Jenna and Stephen actually did the majority of their wedding portraits in St Augustine a month before the wedding! It made for a more relaxed wedding day and allowed them to spend more time with their family and friends – many of whom had traveled from out of country or cross country to be there with them. It also let us create some truly epic wedding portraits that time would not have permitted otherwise!
