Sarah and Brandon’s Jekyll Island Beach wedding was perfect. Seriously. The weather was perfect and so was their adorable love for each other!
Sarah and Brandon met at a local Ford dealership in the fall of 2011, she was the receptionist and Brandon was the detail guy at the time. They chatted a few times at work before he asked for her phone number – and she turned him down! And then she turned him down repeatedly over the following weeks until one fateful day when she was told to decorate the 16 foot Christmas tree. At only 5’4 this was clearly going to be a problem, even with a ladder.ย And there was definitely no way she was going to be able to reach the top of the tree for the topper. Lucky for Brandon, he happened to walk by at the exact moment she was in the middle of the struggle. Sarah, shamelessly bribed him to put the star on the tree for her in exchange for her number. ๐ To this day he tells everyone that it all began when he “topped her tree.”
I think Sarah has a thing about meeting people through fate. What are the odds she was on aย Jekyll Island page on Facebook at the exact moment I posted sneak peeks tagging that location from a previous wedding! And our names are both Sarah? Obviously, it was meant to be boo!
August 11th rolled around and the bride and groom had arrived at Jekyll Island from their home state of Nebraska along with their closest family and their entire bridal party. It was definitely an afternoon filled with emotion. Her grandmother came into help her into her pearls and she shared a sweet first look with her daddy where she shared with him the Navy uniform patch she had sewn into her dress. But of all the sweet moments throughout the day, my favorite is always going to be the groom seeing his bride for the first time. I mean seriously, look at Brandon’s face!
After that though, the puppy pretty much stole the show. Sarah’s lucky I was able to contain myself because I could have easily taken 5256 pictures of her puppy throughout the entire beach ceremony (though honestly, she probably would have been fine with it). Brandon and Sarah were SUCH good sports. I totally stole them away from their reception to get sunset pictures of them on the driftwood Jekyll Island is famous for – and they were MONEY SHOTS. Absolutely worth it. Once we got back, the party got started Nebraska style and the entire family was on the dance floor. Even grandma was gettingย down!
I had so much funย capturing your wedding day lovebirds! I’m so glad y’all chose a Jekyll Island beach wedding, and I’m certainly glad you chose me to document it!
To a lifetime of love and laughter!
