Stefanie and Dustin’s Treasury on the Plaza Wedding

I met Stefanie and Dustin exactly a year ago when I found out they were getting married on the same day as the Florida-Georgia football game 2017. I told them that if I agreed to photograph their wedding it must be because I thought they were the bomb.com (which I totally do) because I would have to miss the game.ย  Let me tell you now that it was WELL worth it!ย  Their wedding wasย gorgeous and SO much fun.

The wedding was held at one of my favoriteย locations. I’ve always loved the Treasury on the Plaza, it’s an absolutely beautiful wedding venue in St. Augustine. Their wedding was a Gatsby theme which couldn’tย be more fitting for the treasury. It’s the cities first andย only skyscraper atย six whole stories and amazing history but every couple ends up falling in love with the old-timeyย bank vault.

Stefanie and Dustin decided to do a first look and I’m so glad they did. Honestly, I try to encourage everyone to do them. It makes the entire day flow more smoothly and we can take advantage of the best light. Plus, the bride and groom get a moment to themselves to appreciate each other! Stefanie and Dustin had some of the most beautiful lighting for their bridal portraits. St. Augustine (and the plaza especially) is such a beautiful city we had so much fun walking around the area and the photos were just so perfect. AND SO FUN too! My assistant, Emily, flagged down a cop she knew and he pretended to arrest the groom. I’m all about some funny shots, and I think this one is HILARIOUS!

The wedding day went without a hitch thanks to Dawn at the Wedding Authority coordinating. Let me tell you, that woman isย amazing.ย Nothing happened during the day without her making sure it was on point and she was so good about keeping me in the loop. HIRE A COORDINATOR… I can’t say it enough. They make the day so much less stressful ๐Ÿ™‚

The day was lovely, the photos were gorgeous but the reception was soย fun. First of all, its impossible not to have fun with a Gatsby theme but the wedding party and all of the guests were there toย party. The dance floor was constantly packed (which makes my job easier and way more fun) and everyone wanted to have a good time. There was even an “attempted” dirty dancing lift… of course I caught it on camera! A for Effort!!ย  ย I don’ t think Stefanie and Dustin left the dance floor until it was time for their sparkler exit.
