I first met Evan’s family during maternity photos, and then I photographed his newborn pictures and now they were all back for Evan’s 1st birthday and cake smash photos. I know I’ve said it before but I love, love, love when clients come back to me for repeat sessions. It’s so fun to watch families grow together and it speaks to my work as a family photographer that people want their homes filled with images we created together. It’s amazing how much little ones change in their first year of life. Evan was a walking, talking, smiling toddler and just a year ago he slept right thru his newborn session.

Before coming to the studio for his cake smash photos, we updated their family photos at Treaty Oak and both kids were all smiles which made my job so much easier. But when it came to the cake smash, Evan had a smile that would not quit. Especially when we sang to him the song his dad created “Evan, my buddy Evan. Evan, my buddy Eeevvaaann.” Literally every time we sang he had the hardest cheese face. He got super excited when we brought out the cake spent some time playing with the frosting on his hands before he decided to dive right in. Evan was in such a good mood he even shared some cake with his sister, Madison. Which is pretty unheard of when it comes to cake smash sessions. Kids typically don’t share the cake or anything else for that matter (although, really can we blame them)? Oh my gosh, and then I got the sweetest kiss between the siblings before Evan really got to work demolishing the cake. By the end of it there wasn’t much left but crumbles and frosting from his head to the tips of his toes.

Kendra, William, thank you for choosing me as your photographer. You have the sweetest family, and I’m so thankful you’re all mine πŸ˜‰
