Sometimes I stand there before a wedding and think “It’s the perfect day for a wedding.” That thought is rare living in Florida. It’s too hot, too humid and too moist for such thoughts all the time. But every once in a while the stars align and a lucky couple is blessed with the perfect weather. I arrived at Lesley and Priscilla’s Deer Creek Country Club wedding thankful that today was the perfect day for my brides. After ten years together Lesley and Priscilla were about to become officially, official.
And Lesley was emotional. In the very best way. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house as we witnessed her seeing watching her bride walk down the aisle. Then Priscilla arrived to Lesley and immediately reached up to wipe a tear from her cheek. If someone’s eyes had managed to stay dry before then, they certainly weren’t now. Surrounded by their family and friends they exchanged the most beautifulΒ rings on the lawn of Deer Creek Country Club before kicking off their reception inside.
They kept the color scheme classic and understated colors of black and white with touches of sparkle throughout. I couldn’t get over how beautiful the cake was. Almost too beautiful to eat, unless you were the brides. Who had no problem adorably smashing it in each other’s faces. They definitely had one of my favorite “cake smashes” today at a wedding. But that wasn’t the only thing that was memorable.Β Their wedding was an intimate affair surrounded by their closest family and friends. So it quickly became evident when a few ladies arrived to the dance floor that clearly were not apart of the wedding – wedding crashers! It was the first wedding I’ve attended where the wedding crashers were so blatantly obvious but they were genuinely nice and made it so fun.
The weather was amazing, the venue was beautiful, the brides were some of the most fun, laid back people I’ve ever met. It truly was the perfect day for a wedding.
