I always advise clients to book their newborn portraits as early as possible. We know that babies often come on their own time, but by booking in advance, I can ensure openings around mom’s expected due date! Β Although once in a while I get a last minute request for newborn pictures of a little bundle that’s already arrived. This was the case with sweet Carrie. Her parents called to book her newborn pictures after she had already made her grand entrance to the world. I was super lucky that I had an opening available in my schedule to photograph her because I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this.
Carrie was SUCH an angel, seriously such a good little girl that she basically let me do whatever I wanted for her newborn portraits. She slept like a champ through the whole thing despite outfit changes and prop swaps. I still can’t believe how many awesome poses and props were able to capture during her newborn session. I can see why she was so chill though. Her mom and dad were really awesome, they totally let me do my own thing and I was able to use some of my newest props.
I was only bummed that I didn’t find out her daddy was a musician until after the session! I love incorporating items that are a reflection of mom and dad in my newborn session so I would have loved to incorporate his guitar. Luckily miss Carrie is going to be back in my studio in less than a year for her cake smash and we will definitely be pulling out the guitars and musical inspirations for that one.
Welcome to the world little Carrie!
