It’s amazing what a small worldย we live in. The Downey Family lives in Knoxville, Tennessee and as it turns out, they were neighbors with the only person I know living in Knoxville! ย How crazy is that? Anywho, The Downy’s were vacationing in South St. Augustine and wanted to update their family photos while on vacation. I actually love these photo sessionย request. Family vacations are the perfect time to update your family photos and a great way to bring home memories. How great would it be to see your walls lined with professional photographs from all the vacations your family has taken over the years?
North Florida has been on the receiving end of some much-needed rain lately, but it’s not ideal for families on vacation or photographers either! On the day of Downyย families photo shoot, the forecast was calling for rain. We attempted to move their photography session a bit earlier in the day to beat the rain, unfortunately, the weather wasn’t co-operating. It literally would not stop raining.
So we decided to make lemons into lemonade and turned this into a road trip! It’s not often I get to have adventures with my clients but this is definitely a memory none of us will forget.ย We piled into their mini van and headed north to JAX Beach where rain was off the radar.
It was worth every mile. We had finally beat the rain and even lucked out with gorgeous skies too! Adventurous road trips aren’t usually part of my photography packages but maybe they should be because the Downey family photos turned out gorgeous. Everyone looks so happy and relaxed – a side affect from being on vacation I’m sure. I’m chalking that up to just one more reason to have your family photos done while on vacation!
