One of the things I love most about being a portrait photographer is getting to experience life’s milestones with my clients. I originally met Claire and Bradley for their gorgeous maternity portrait session at Washington Oaks. The images turned out stunning and she was such a lovely mother-to-be. I couldn’t wait for baby Lucas to be born so I could have them back for my photos at my portrait studio in Jacksonville for a Military themed newborn photography session.
Let me tell you, little baby Lucas did not disappoint a single bit! When he wasn’t peacefully sleeping away for precious newborn poses, he was busily charming me with the sweetest newborn smiles I’ve ever seen. I mean just look at that grin! His daddy is in the US Navy, so of course, we gravitated towards a nautical, military theme for the overall look of the photoshoot. How cute was that sailor outfit? It went perfectly with my boat prop and with daddies military dress whites uniform. I love when parents want to incorporate meaningful parts of their life into their newborn portraits. Although we also wanted to work in some accessories and photography props that went well with the Navy military themed photos but also offered diversity.
As with all of my newborn photography sessions, including details of a baby’s ever-changing features is important. All too soon those soft squishy cheeks give way to infant and then toddler features. It was also a chance to get Claire and Bradley back in front of the camera and, again, I could not have had a better time photographing this sweet young couple. The love they had for newborn Lucas was evident in every way. Congratulations again Claire and Bradley, Lucas is perfection!
