A Family Photography session with a Jaguar player? SURE! I met Sen’Derrick Marks and his beautiful wife Rayan last year when he took a sweet young lady, Khameyea, to prom. Khameyea passed away from cancer shortly after, and I know her family was so grateful to Sen’Derrick for making her prom so special. It’s interesting. Sen’Derrick is a 300lb Defensive Tackle for the Jaguars. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover because you’d get it wrong with him! He’s a beast on the field, and a teddy bear off the field (don’t tell him I told you that 😉 ) . Sen’Derrick has overcome so much in his life. He had a major injury last year and came back stronger than ever this year! When I talked to him about his injury the first thing he said was, “God has a reason and purpose for everything. This happened for a reason and I trust God to always watch over me and protect me.” He then discussed a medical scare with his wife Rayan, and said it was a blessing that her issue was uncovered so quickly, and he is is thankful for that.

Sen’Derrick is even more amazing off the field!

Yes, his answer touches me so deeply. You see, I am blessed that I know and love many talented football players in high school, college and the NFL. My boys, as I call them, know that the first thing I say is to play for God first and foremost. He has his plan for your life. I also say it’s one hit that could change everything. So, for Sen’Derrick to know that even with an injury, God has a plan for him, especially with how successful he is, I can pray that my high school and college boys can emulate his passion and faith.

So, when you’re watching Sen’Derrick on the field, I hope you can appreciate his “beast mode” ! But, also know that he is kind and Godly and that MANY players could be more like him.
